Frequently asked questions
Why is the speed, speed limit, or road level incorrect?
GPS can be affected by tall buildings, tunnels, and elevated roads, while open road data may not yet reflect a change. You can switch between car and motorcycle modes and choose automatic, surface, or elevated roads on the dashboard. Always follow posted signs.
Why is no nearby speed camera shown?
Camera information comes from OpenStreetMap and Overpass, so coverage and update times vary. When no reliable candidate is available, the camera tile remains neutral grey instead of suggesting that data exists.
How can I mute only one type of alert?
Tap the Road Limit or Speed Camera tile on the dashboard to toggle its audio independently. Volume and further options are available in Settings.
Can alerts continue in the background?
After you enable background alerts and grant the required location permission, the app can continue evaluating conditions while the screen is locked or another app is open. This increases battery use.
How do I provide a diagnostic log?
Engineering Mode can record diagnostic information on your device. Export it only when you are ready, and review the file for location details you may not wish to share.
Report a beta issue
Open Speed Notifier in TestFlight and select “Send Beta Feedback” to include a screenshot and description.
- Describe the road and approximate time.
- Include the vehicle and road-level settings.
- If available, export the Engineering Mode log from the app and attach it.
Speed Notifier does not replace posted road signs, traffic law, or safe driving judgement. If the app disagrees with the road, follow the road.
