Location and speed
The app uses iPhone Location Services to calculate current speed and direction, and to evaluate nearby road limits and fixed speed camera data. If you enable background alerts, location can continue while the screen is locked or the app is in the background.
You can change location permission at any time in iOS Settings. Features that depend on GPS cannot work correctly when location is disabled.
OpenStreetMap and Overpass queries
When requesting road data online, the app may send coordinates describing the query area to an Overpass service to retrieve nearby speed limits and fixed camera information. These are third-party services governed by their own policies and logging practices.
Data stored on your device
Speed thresholds, audio controls, volume, vehicle mode, road level, appearance, and other preferences are stored on your device. Diagnostic records created in Engineering Mode also remain on the device unless you actively export them.
Data we do not collect
- No name, phone number, or account sign-in is required.
- No advertising identifier or cross-app tracking is used.
- No payment or purchase information is processed.
- Engineering Mode logs are not uploaded automatically.
This website
This website does not set first-party analytics cookies or embed advertising trackers. It is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, and Cloudflare may process connection information for security, delivery, and service operation.
Accuracy and safety
GPS and open map data may be affected by signal quality, road level, coverage, and update timing. Speed Notifier is an assistive alert tool only. Always follow posted road signs, traffic law, and actual road conditions.
